Mar. 1st, 2011 – Posted the review for Children of the Elementi on both Amazon.com and here. I’ll also see if it’s on Smashwords.
Feb. 28th, 2011 – Okay, read a lot more of Ceri Clark’s book Children of the Elementi. I see where I’m going wrong with this one. This is not a book that can (or should) be taken lightly. If you pick this up and start reading, you really have to give it some time so it’s easier to follow along. I should’ve known that as the book’s descrption clearly states their are five heirs that have been scattered across time and space. So, if you’re like me, and pick up the book to read a little here and there, it isn’t gonna work. That explains why it’s taken me a while to get through it. Once you sit down and dedicate several hours to nothing but solid reading, then the story is easier to follow and its much more enjoyable.
Sorry, Ms. Clark, I’ll have it done in a couple of days!
Feb. 26th, 2011 – Pleasant surprise yesterday. Looked outside my door and I see a package. Well, a padded envelope. It was from PublishAmerica. Time to see how they did.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I really don’t expect to sell many print editions, which is why I specified I wanted to retain eletronic rights to my book. Which they granted. So when I slid the book out of the package, I was impressed. Slick, glossy cover. Large (but not too large) print that even my mother would be able to read without any problems. The map on the Misc page is on the first page as you open the book. Turned out great!
Yes, PublishAmercia has gotten a lot of bad press, but I’m pretty sure it’s from people who don’t bother to read through their contract and understand what is going to happen. I read through the contract with a magnifying glass. Several options concerned me. I addressed them, and they were resolved. No problems. I inquired about ebooks and they added an addendum which specified I, as the author, retained all rights to the book in any electronic format.
All in all, way to go PublishAmerica! You did a good job! Many thanks for the complimentary copy you sent me! Wasn’t expected, but much appreciated!
Feb. 23rd, 2011 - Got the official press release from my publisher, PublishAmerica, that my book has been released! Available in print from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and several other sellers! See the links on the left if you’re interested!
Feb. 20th, 2011 - Getting better using this WordPress. Have created several threads in case someone wants to post comments. Looks like I will be the only one to start a thread, but I’ve set it up so that anyone can comment on a thread.
Feb. 18th, 2011 – My book is finally released on Publish America! Umm, I think it is. The link on their website appeared, but wasn’t showing the book cover. Still working on it? I hope?
